THE PNEUMATIC CONVEYING FOR THE REFINERY

In the refinery field, Nol-tec Europe has a ten-year experience constantly renewed thanks to the development and implementation of new technologies to improve its performance.

The Nol-Tec Europe systems are designed to considerably reduce the emission of harmful substances in the environment.

APPLICATIONS OF NOL-TEC EUROPE TECHNOLOGIES:

Most of the Nol-tec Europe systems for the refineries are installed for the transferring of new catalysts or additives into the restorer of FCC (Fluid Catalyst Cracker).

There are two basic designs of injection systems currently being utilized:

  • The first design uses an atmospheric storage bin, which is filled from truck or drums (via Venturi eductor). A transport vessel with a weighing system is used to transfer additives in full batches.
  • The second design incorporates a much larger weighed transport vessel which transfers small “injections”. A material outlet valve is cycled to control the size of the injections, as well as their frequency. This larger injector is filled from big bags or drums using compressed air through a Venturi eductor to provide the conveying force.
FRESH CATALYST INJECTION:

In the past, the refinery did this on a volumetric basis, by simply pressurizing their fresh catalyst storage silo, and transferring directly to the regenerator.

However, with increased costs, and the constant demand for better quality control, refiners are seeing the need to accurately measure their fresh catalyst addition.

The Nol-tec Europe systems applies dense phase pneumatic conveying at low speed in order to prevent all the problems concerning the injection system wear and uses high quality materials to guarantee the operating/maintenance costs which are less rather than those of the traditional systems.
